It also applies to every treatment of data or information that we receive from or about you. Protecting your privacy and personal information is very important to Woof Pack[1] (referred to herein with the terms “we”, “us” or “our”) and we make all reasonable efforts to protect your information and meet the privacy norms as provided by the applicable Canadian and provincial legislation every time you access and/or browse our website, sign up for our membership or purchase our products (collectively the “Services”). In this Privacy Policy, we wish to inform you, our customers and/or website users (collectively the “Users” and also referred to herein as “you” or “your”) about how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual, as more particularly described in the applicable privacy legislation (“Personal Information”). This Privacy Policy applies to our collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information in Canada.
What information do we collect?
Woof Pack collects Personal Information from you when you supply it through the use of our Services. When you create your Woof Pack personal account or proceed with a transaction, we ask for and store information about you, such as your username, email address, credit card information and shipping and billing addresses. We may also collect information inputted through our website and related to the tasks being performed by Users in relation to our Services, such as the date and time when tasks were performed. When you browse our website, we automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
How do we use your Personal Information?
Woof Pack uses your Personal Information to process your membership, your purchases, send you confirmations or electronic receipts, screen transactions for fraudulent behavior, and handle shipping and any returns of your products and for any related communications. We also use your personal information to administer your account such as to enable you to access your shopping bag or browse your transaction and membership history. We also use your Personal Information to perform data analysis in order to improve our Services and enhance your overall experience. Should you participate in a contest organized by us and the access to which is provided via our website or social media platforms, the information you supply in relation to this participation will be used by us for the purposes related to the contest only.
How is your information communicated or disclosed?
We may share your Personal Information with our affiliates and service providers who process it on our behalf when required for business purposes. These parties are legally obligated to maintain the confidentiality of the Personal Information thus communicated to them and their handling and use of the information is confined to the purpose for which such information was specifically communicated. Woof Pack does not offer or sell any Personal Information to third parties.
Woof Pack may disclose your Personal information in certain circumstances as required by law, such as when we are ordered to do so by a court of competent jurisdiction or when disclosure is necessary to protect our legal interests.
Your consent
By providing us with your Personal Information, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of that information as described in this Policy, as amended from time to time, or as described at or before the time of collection, use or disclosure. If you do not want your Personal Information to be collected, used or disclosed in this manner, you should refrain from submitting such information to us. How do we keep the information?
The files containing your Personal Information collected by us are kept on the servers of our service providers, such as Shopify Inc.
Woof Pack and our service providers may process and store Personal Information on servers in locations other than Canada. Your personal information will be subject to the laws of the jurisdictions in which your personal information is processed or stored.
We take reasonable steps to provide adequate and appropriate protection to your Personal Information through the use of physical, electronic and procedural safeguards.
Shopify
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
